Islamabad High Court Reserves Verdict on Bushra Bibi’s Jail Transfer Request

Islamabad High Court has adjourned the hearing on a petition filed by Bushra Bibi, wife of Ex-PM Imran Khan, in which she has requested to shift her from Bani Gala to the sub-Adiala Jail.

Security Concerns and Courtroom Exchange

During the hearing, Justice Hassan Aurangzeb asked the state counsel about the conflicting claims of security threats. The court focused on how it is inconsistent to argue for a prison hearing citing security concerns in courts and at the same time suggesting transferring Bushra Bibi to a place where there is a security threat.

The state attorney said in his arguments that Adiala Jail does not have enough space to accommodate more female prisoners. Justice Hassan replied maybe the transfer was pre-planned.

Verdict Expected Soon

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court has reserved its judgment and it is expected short verdict will be announced later today, maybe in the evening.
