Islamabad High Court Challenges Petition on Adiala Jail Inmate Political Discussions

Islamabad High Court conducted a hearing regarding a petition filed by Sher Afzal Marwat, in which he requested to remove the ban on political discussion among prisoners from Adiala Jail. The Advocate General representing the government during the hearing objected against the admissibility of petition stating that due to its location in Rawalpindi area comes under jurisdiction of Lahore high court.

Court Seeks Clarification on Inmate Residency

The court has asked for more information about the residency of the prisoners if these prisoners are confirmed as Islamabad resident then IHC can hear the case. The court has adjourned the hearing till May 10 to get all the details and check the petition’s maintainability.
