Coalition Government Lost Two-thirds Majority After Supreme Court’s Ruling
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued an important judgment on the reserved seats given to multiple parties in the ruling coalition. As a result of this decision, the coalition has lost its two-thirds majority in the National Assembly.
Background of Reserved Seats
The Election Commission of Pakistan allocated reserve seats to the following parties within the ruling coalition:
- Muslim League-N: 16 seats
- People’s Party: 5 seats
