Azad Kashmir Paralyzed by Protests Over Soaring Electricity Prices
The complete shutter down strike is observing in Azad Kashmir entered day second as protesters protested against the rising electricity prices. All markets, businesses, and public transport are closed while internet and mobile services have been suspended at many places. The shutdown started after failed negotiations between the Azad Kashmir government and the Awami Action Committee regarding the increase in electricity tariff.
The Action Committee demand 50% off on electricity bills and they demand to generate electricity from local resources. The government is not ready to give this concession on the electricity issue while promising to continue subsidies on flour and other essential commodities. The long march is on its way to Muzaffarabad to pressurize the government it has reach Dhirkot.
