LESCO Launches Investigation into Widespread Overbilling Scandal

LESCO has started a major investigation within the organization over the overbilling scam. Shahid Haider LESCO Chief has asked all circle head for the response of this issue especially from the Northern, Central and Eastern circles. He has asked superintending engineers SEs from South, Okara, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, and Sheikhupura circle to provide an explanation.

Uncovering the Overbilling Scheme

LESCO officials committed to the Chief that both theft and overbilling issues were resolved in November 2023. But the recent moves by the Federal Investigation Agency have uncovered the ongoing overbilling tactics due to which consumers are suffering. Shahid Haider has now asked for all the data about November claims to find out the officers and employees involved in causing losses of billions of rupees to consumers.

Seeking Accountability and Criminal Charges

LESCO has decided to take legal action against the responsible person under criminal charges according to the relevant laws. They have 7 days to provide all requested information after receiving a case from the department.
