Pakistan Aims to Ease Visa Restrictions for Sikh Pilgrims

The interior minister Mohsin Naqvi, endorses the idea of a relaxed visa policy especially for Sikh pilgrims who want to visit Pakistan. He said that the visa process should be made easier and maybe an “on-arrival visa” facility can also be introduced for them.

Phased Implementation Plan

The plan would be in a phased approach:

  • Phase 1: Issuing visas to Sikh living outside India.
  • Phase 2: in 2nd phase we will try to issue the visa for indian’s sikhs as well.

This initiative will help in facilitating Sikh community members in their traveling and pilgrimage and it will work as a bridge between Pakistan and the Sikh diaspora.
