Heavy Rain Expected in Punjab: Alert Issued by PDMA
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Tarjuman PDMA, rainy and thunderstorm weather is expected in Mari, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala Gujarat Hafizabad Sialkot Narowal withd maximum intensity in terms of rainfall and wind speed. Similarly rainy/thundershower may fall at scattered places across Punjab including Lahore Rainy weather expected in Kasur and Okara districts as well as Faisalabad they will also see moderate downpour now Samaj and Sahiwal will also experience moderate rainfall while heavy rainfal is expected in some areas.
Weather Forecast Details
According to Mahekam-e-Mawsmiyat, Meteorological Department has revealed that significant weather changes are expected in Lahore and Punjab on 26th to 29th April. PDMA has already issued an alert indicating the probability of thunderstorms starting from 29th April. Western winds will continue till late night on 24th April it may cause thunderstorms in southern Punjab from 26th to 28th April.
Impact on Agriculture
The heavy rainfall forecast is a matter of great concern for the wheat crop cutting participants as many are afraid to stuck in case of heavy rains. Farmers were advised to make arrangements according to the weather forecast, “The next spell of widespread rain was expected from Thursday (April 23) to Saturday (April 25) in all regions,” PMD added.
